Sunsets at Anchor
Ask anyone in our family what they love most about sailing and, sooner or later, the answer is the same: the evening.

Engine off
The day’s passage is done. We drop the anchor in a quiet bay, take a line ashore and switch the engine off. Suddenly all you can hear is the water against the hull and, somewhere up on the hillside, a goat bell.
The golden hour
As the sun slides behind the hills, the water turns copper and then gold. Someone always jumps in for a last swim, someone takes the paddle board out, and someone just sits in the cockpit with a cold drink and says nothing at all.

And then the stars
When the colours are gone, the stars arrive. Far from town lights, the sky above the mast is full. We lie on the foredeck cushions, talk a little, and feel the boat move gently on her anchor.

The quiet morning
Wake up early and the bay is a mirror. The first coffee in the cockpit, before anyone else is up, might be the second best moment of the day.
